Our family is always on the lookout for good Biblically-sound devotion books for our family devotion time. We were sent God’s Word for Families, Vol. 1 to review, and we really enjoyed going through this book as a family.
The weekly lessons are super family-friendly, with easy-to-understand sections and discussion questions so you can do the study with all ages in your family.
The book features a section in the front for agreeing to a family covenant (committing to doing the study) and setting goals with your family. There’s a place for 10 family members to put their names and ages and the date you start the study.
The goals page is laid out nicely with sections about family goals and personal goals. They even included a space to add prayer focuses for the coming year.
There is a detailed section on how to use the devotional book. I love that the layout starts on Sunday with the introduction. The following days continue in a pattern with a certain type of further explanation.
I really liked how each week was set up, with fun colors and illustrations that go right along with that week’s topic.
My kids are a bit crazy for any kind of fun trivia, so they love the Fun Facts and Did You Know? sections.
I highly recommend this family study for families of all shapes and sizes. You can purchase it for yourself for a friend here.
