Spring fun! No Red, Itchy Eyes
Our family suffers annually with seasonal allergies. We live on a rural farm with all sorts of trees, grasses, and flowers. From February to June there is no lack of pollen floating about. One of the worst culprits is the crimson clover we plant each year to help fertilize our pecan trees. We found out when we first planted the clover that our oldest son is highly allergic to it. Whenever he walks near it or through it during its full bloom his eyes get puffy, red and very itchy. Last year we tried several different allergy medications and eye drops for him, but nothing made any ... Continue Reading...

Game Night: Rabbit Pirates
My family loves games. We have a family game night nearly every week so we are always on the lookout for fun new games. I was asked to review this adorable game from RooserFin Games called Rabbit Pirates. This is a card game rated for ages 7 and up, but my 4 year old loves to play too. He needs help counting up his tokens at the end, but my 6 year old was able to play without any help at all. This game is meant for two, three or four players. Game setup is simply laying out the three "island" game boards and putting the tokens equally in the center of all three islands. The ... Continue Reading...

ICB Prayer Bible for Children
I have struggled with a good way to teach my kids how to pray. I try to set an example with my own prayers, but children's prayers are usually vastly different from adult prayers. So how do you teach your kids to pray? I was offered a chance to review The Prayer Bible for Children (ICB version) and we have really enjoyed going through it. This beautiful Bible comes in two colors: pink and blue. Since I have more boys than girls I chose blue. The Bible has a hard cover with gold accents. It includes a matching 64-page prayer journal for children to write notes and prayers to God ... Continue Reading...

Our Peaceable Kingdom Game Night
Our family loves to have a weekly game night! My kids look forward to these nights so much because games are fun. They don't really understand it, but game nights also bring us closer together as a family and help them build better relationships with their siblings. Usually we play the classic games, but often times our younger kids don't (or can't) enjoy the same games the older kids and adults do. I am always on the lookout for more games that are appropriate for little kids. Peaceable Kingdom to the rescue! Peaceable Kingdom specializes in cooperative games. What is a cooperative ... Wether or not your family participates in Halloween, fall festivals, or trick-or-treating may be a hot topic among Christians, but one thing is certain: we should use every opportunity to tell people about God's love! These adorable little treat boxes are a wonderful tool for sharing our faith. They come in packs of 20 and are ready to punch out and assemble. These are so easy even my little kids could help.
