We like how easy ... Continue Reading...
The Bible for kids who enjoy graphic novels
Why Graphic Novels are Fun In the "old days" we called them comic books (which in reality were really comic "magazines"), but nowadays graphically illustrated books are "graphic novels". My kids really enjoy these graphic novels, even if they have read the story before without all the illustrations. We were given a copy of BibleForce to review and the boys haven't wanted to put it down. BibleForce: The First Heros Bible is a brand-new Bible storybook that is illustrated with exciting, comic-style artwork. You can see for yourself how vivid and detailed the illustrations are on each ... Continue Reading...

ICB Prayer Bible for Children
I have struggled with a good way to teach my kids how to pray. I try to set an example with my own prayers, but children's prayers are usually vastly different from adult prayers. So how do you teach your kids to pray? I was offered a chance to review The Prayer Bible for Children (ICB version) and we have really enjoyed going through it. This beautiful Bible comes in two colors: pink and blue. Since I have more boys than girls I chose blue. The Bible has a hard cover with gold accents. It includes a matching 64-page prayer journal for children to write notes and prayers to God ... Continue Reading...

I’m Not a Scaredy Cat
Everyone gets scared, but it seems kids have a harder time overcoming fears. Often times it is hard to ease a child's fears because they have such a vivid imagination. I'm Not a Scaredy Cat is an adorable new children's book by Max Lucado all about trusting God when you're scared. Through the story the cute cat denies he's a scaredy cat except in certain situations, then shares the prayer he prays to help him not feel scared anymore. The illustrations in this book are eye-catching and colorful. My kids especially liked the details of the cat when something scared him. He's just so ... Continue Reading...

An Uncommon Courtship
An Uncommon Courtship by Kristi Ann Hunter is a Regency Era novel and it's book 3 in the Hawthorne House series. I have had the pleasure of reading all of the books so far and I have loved all of them, including the prequel novella. This has probably been my least favorite, but it is still a good book. Adelaide has a perfect reputation after living in her sister's shadow, but one move lands her in a compromising situation. Trent has plans to fall in love and marry the woman of his choosing, but his choice is taken away when he finds himself honor-bound to marry Adelaide whom he doesn't ... Continue Reading...

Marmal the Blue Ribbon Sheep
Marmal the Blue Ribbon Sheep is a new children's book by Lisa Marie Mathieson. My first impression of this book was the illustrations were adorable! Isn't Marmal just the cutest little sheep ever?! Her name is short for Marmalade and her personality is just as sweet as her name. Without giving away too much about the book I'll just say this is a sweet story about being kind no matter what or who you come into contact with. I felt there were a few details added in that distracted from the plot, but my kids never noticed. They said one of their favorite parts was where Marmal brings her ... Continue Reading...
